LCAC OPEN SHOW RULES/ SADLE LOG RULES AND AWARD INFO

OPEN SHOW YEAR END AWARD RULES
The object of keeping points & awarding Year End Awards (from classes pointed with LCAC & held at local shows) is to promote the Appaloosa horse in open competition.
1. A High Point, Reserve High Point, and third through sixth place award will be offered in each of eight divisions.
2. Year End Awards will be offered in the following eight divisions: Appaloosa Halter, Appaloosa English Pleasure, Appaloosa Western Pleasure, Appaloosa Youth Equitation, Western Pleasure 13 & Under, Western Pleasure 14-18, English Pleasure 13 & Under, English Pleasure 14-18.
3. A member of the point committee will collect and keep track of points from each show pointed by LCAC.
4. Rider and owner of the horse must be LCAC member for the points to count. Family members include: father, mother & children under 18 yrs. (all ages are as of Jan. 1 of the calendar year). Memberships must be paid before classes can count toward points.
5. Horse must have regular or CPO Appaloosa Horse Club papers for points to count.
6. Appaloosa Halter: To be judged on type, conformation, action, substance, quality and manners.
7. Appaloosa English Pleasure: To be judged on horse’s way of going at the walk, trot & canter both ways of the ring. May be asked to back.
8. Appaloosa Western Pleasure: To be judged on horse’s way of going at the walk, jog & lope both ways of the ring. May be asked to back.
9. Youth Pleasure classes will be pointed as to placing in open pointed Youth Pleasure classes & are not separate classes.
10. Shows that will be pointed will be listed in the LCAC newsletter and on website.
11. Appaloosa Youth Equitation: Tack optional. To be judged on the rider’s equitation at the walk, trot/jog & canter/lope. Pattern Required May be asked to back.

THE LCAC SADDLE LOG & DRIVING LOG PROGRAM RULES
- *Must be a member of LCAC for hours to count. Hours may be started when membership is paid. If not renewed by the January meeting, hours cannot be counted until membership is paid.*
- Saddle & Driving Log year will run from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31. Year End Awards will be presented for Total Yearly Hours. There will be awards for 1st through 6th place.
- There will be 2 divisions in the Saddle Log Program & Driving Log Program. 18 & Under, 19 & Over.
- Hours may be earned on type of riding or driving.
- Any breed of horse or pony may be used.
- Horse or Pony does not have to belong to the LCAC member.
- Hours are kept on the HONOR system. But Driving hrs. will be kept separate from Saddle hrs.
- Hours are to be kept on log sheets supplied by LCAC & hrs can be totaled from all horses for awards.
- Hours will be totaled to 2000 hrs. before starting over.
- For hours to count for year end awards, log sheets must be turned in at the Sept. meeting or postmarked the next day.

Incomplete Saddle log sheets will not be accepted.
Here are some key things people sometime forget.
1. Riders Age was missing. (we need to know this as it is broke down by youth and adult)
2. Total Hours need to be filled in at the bottom of each column.
3. Page Total of hours must be done on each page.
4. Yearly Total of Hours and Minutes must be put down.
5. Riders Name, Address and Phone number must be on page in case we need to contact you.
6. Make sure you fill in the date, horse and hour on each line you are entering information.

∑ 900 hours ~ cooler with club logo
∑ 1000 hours ~ jacket with club logo
∑ 1500 hours ~ winter blanket with club logo
∑ 2000 hours ~ Gift Certificate

APPALOOSA OPEN SHOW AWARDS
The object of keeping points & awarding Year End Awards (from classes pointed with LCAC & held at local shows) is to promote the Appaloosa horse in open competition. Classes held at these shows are Halter, English Pleasure, Western Pleasure and Youth Equitation. Awards for the top 6 in each of these classes are given at our yearly awards banquet.
APPALOOSA REGIONAL YEAR END AWARDS
Hi Point and Reserve Hi Point regional awards are given to members who attend Regiona l Appaloosa shows that are pointed by LCAC. You must also attend the LCAC Summer Classic in July for your points to count. Members and Appaloosa owners must be members by May 1st for points to be counted.
